53rd Grammy Awards LIVE on Channel O

M-Net has secured the broadcasting rights to the 53 Grammy Awards ceremony will be shown live on Channel O (DStv 320) on Monday, 14 February at 2am (Nigerian time) and go out later the same day on M-Net (DStv 102) at 7:30pm.

The 53rd Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles next week.

Nigerian artists won most of the awards at the Channel O video Awards 2010. The Awards was held at the Sandton Convention Centre in J’burg, South Africa.

Wonderful Recognition went to K’naan and he performed Tia via e-presence.
Most gifted south - Pro(sekele )
Most gifted dance – Liquid deep (Fairytale )
Most gifted female - Mochedda ft othello(if you want it )
Most gifted male – Black coffee(juju )
MTN most gifted video – Tear gas (party 101 )

Channel O to broadcast the 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards live for the first time in November.

I can tell you that Channel O will be broadcasting the 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards live for the first time in the history of this awards ceremony on Thursday, November 4 from the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg to the whole of Africa.

''The decision to go live with the 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards lets music fans from across the continent take part in the event as it unfolds,'' says Yolisa Phahle, channel director for special interests at M-Net. ''We are planning not only a fantastic night out for those who come to the Sandton Convention Centre - but also a television show that will bring the glitz, glamour and excitement of the awards right into the homes of Channel O viewers all over Africa.''
